Description:

An image of a young woman in a formal dress. This piece was created by Ignaz Marcel Gaugengigl. Ignaz Marcel Gaugengigl was born on January 16, 1855 in Passau, Bavaria. When he finished schooling he attended the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. He was the pupil of Johann Leonhard Raab and Wilhelm von Diez. He settled in Boston in 1880 and befriended Sylvester Koehler who was the first curator of prints at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Much of his works are in private collections. He died on August 3, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts.
