Description:
This is a watercolor painting of an engraver at work at his desk.
Irving Ramsey Wiles was born in Utica, New York on April 8, 1861. He was an artist and painter that worked alongside John White Alexander and Cecilia Beaux. Wiles’ paintings are exhibited in the de Young Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery, Washington D.C., and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He died July 29, 1948.
