Description:
This is a photograph of a piece titled “View of Plymouth.” It depicts a grand view of Plymouth, Pennsylvania including the Susquehanna River. Plymouth is located 4 miles west of Wilkes-Barre in Luzerne County. It was first settled in 1769 by the Susquehanna Company of Connecticut. The town is situated in the realm of rich anthracite coal mining that took place there many years prior. The Pennamite-Yankee Wars were fought in this area as well.
