There was published at about the same time a wood engraving entitled, The Beautiful Valley of Wyoming, As It Appeared on July 3rd 1778. 133/4 x 26 inches. Drawn by Thomas Fleming and engraved by Photo Eng. Co. N.Y., with 48 references, by number, to the various points of the Valley identifiable at that time.”
Endicott & Company flourished around 1828 to 1891 and was based in New York. It was a family run lithograph firm that was founded by George and William Endicott. Later in 1830, Endicott partnered with Swett and relocated to Baltimore, eventually relocating again to New York City. They were partners until 1834 when the partnership dissolved, After George Endicott died in 1848, William Endicott took over the business as William Endicott & Co. until 1851, when he died. The firm was carried on by William’s wife, Sara Munroe Endicott until it was then passed to her son, Francus Endicott from 1852-1886. George Endicott Jr. ran the firm from 1887-1891.
