Attacking the Wyoming Settlement

Description:

This is a photograph of a print depicting the Battle of Wyoming, in which British Loyalists and Iroquois fought against Patriots in the American Revolution in the Wyoming Valley. The print shows the Patriot settlers defending their fort as fighting occurs in the middle of town, with houses burning in the distance. According to Valley Views of Northeastern Pennsylvania, by Gilbert S. McClintock, this piece can be found as an “Illustration (page 250) Eli Bowen, The Pictorial Sketch-book of Pennsylvania, English Edition (Philadelphia, 1854).
