Transcription:

Page 1:

My dear Mrs. Nada Vujica Thank you for your very kind letter. The splendor of Mrs. Gambarears were terribly important to me growing up and the feudal situation between the miners, the agonizing wealth between River Street mansions and the small house where miners lived cause my worry to worry since since early childhood. I think Dr. Farley genius and dedication have changed life in our valley. The library is all part of this, and your wonderful competence notes on the back of pictures, most of it, is in the hand [writing] of our sister. Melanie Gildersleave Atherton Uydegraff

Page 2:

The method was each of us paid for having pictures photographed and she colored + labelled them Fathers aunt is said, if she had made a will would have left everything to Monzelle Gambaran who lived with her like a daughter. Heart wary, and I have in the recognition of your vital area in Wilkes achievement gratefully Sarah Atherton Bridgeman Jan 30th 1970 P.S - It was my father when home had the most important of the pictures on the walls and on canvas, preserved the frescoes were all destroyed when the walls were torn down
