The builders - or between - era before pioneers period and those long gone, Mr. Fred Kirby (Wilkes Building for Library of Wilkes used as library was I understand [originally] the Thurlow building; home- all good will
Document 3: When I was merely a girl I heard read by Jordon curator of the Phila[delphia] Historical Society from the Life of William Henry that when we 14- already making guns for the men of General Washingtons army, he noticed the extreme talent of a little rag a muffin who chalked a picture onto a rock. Without learning he was the son of the tavern keeper near Boston where Henry guns were made by hand by workers always naked to the waist, said come you cant draw a man naked unless you see one “In a period of extreme promise ^[at the gun factory] he ordered a worker to come inside his house, and strip to be a model for B.W. Cates head head of the British Academy
