Description:
The following item depicts a letter toAndrew Todd McClintock from Samuel Jones Tilden, dated September 24, 1856. In the letter, Tilden is writing to Todd to settle an open account between the two of them with Jack Drumbelle. Tilden writes that he is sending additional funds to remedy a rent charge he believes is included on the account since. He asks that McClintock meet with him if this is not the case to return the money. He also requests a certificate that is included in the settled account.

If these are sent, & money in your hands to pay the additional sum that may be due for in[teres]t please do so. If not please advance it & draw upon me at one days night. I should like to have the mort[gage]. paid & satisfaction [enclose(d]) immediately, and a certificate
