The following item depicts a multi-layered folded envelope that contains two greeting cards, one of a religious theme that depicts a cherub figure exalting the rising lord, and the other a Valentine’s Day greeting card that depicts a fairy figure and poem on the reverse.
The exterior and interior folders have numerous paintings printed on them, one of a river scene, one of a church, and others of floral arrangements.
Though not signed, the painting style is similar to Claude Edme Charles de Lioux de Savignac.
The date for both items have been ascertained as 1885 by their connection to the one greeting card that is copyrighted 1885.
One of the artists for the original cherub depicts is written as James Sant.

The two greeting cards are housed within a two piece, folded envelope. The envelope is embellished with golden filigrees and stars. On the most exterior folder, there is a picture depicting a church on the hill with a city surrounding the structure. In the background, a rolling countryside can be seen. The scene is framed by a golden, oval frame with filigrees on the top and bottom, as well as the right and left sides of the frame. The back of this piece details a boat scene, where a party is situated on a river. On the left hand side of the scene, there is a forest banking the river. In the foreground, a crane can be seen in the water. On the right hand side of the scene, there is a city wall. It is made from stone and has multiple entrances and turrets. In the background, a mountain range spans the scene, with a small house at the base of the mountain.
The interior folder possesses the same golden filigree stylizations. On the reverse of the folds, there are numerous bouquets painted, one of Lily of the Valley in the center, bordered at each corner with roses and bright colored flowers.
Someone appears to have written ns. in pencil on the interior fold, and the name Roe in pencil on the front of the interior folds.

A Valentine Greeting
Bend down your head, fair rose-bud, While I whisper a secret low, Which you must keep safely folded ‘Till I’m ready to let you go.
I’m going to send you to some one, And you in her hand she will hold, As bending, with eyes true and earnest, She peers deep in your heart of gold.
Then open each rosy petal, That this whispered thought she may see, The hope that I and I only Hay her own true Valentine be. L.B.C.
The poem is bordered by a floral design, colored green, yellow, and pink. There is a small design in the bottom left hand corner that has a P inscribed below a rose.
