Description:

The following items depict two printed letters by Ray Chapman Andrews to Gilbert Stuart McClintock. The first is dated February 11, 1921 and the second, February 18, 1924. They appear to be thank you letters for giving donations to the American Museum of Natural History for New York’s Third Asiatic Expedition magazine.

Letter A:

The letter addresses McClintock’s subscription to the Third Asiatic Expedition. Andrews notes with regret that he missed McClintock’s subscription last October, leaving him without recognition, and states his apology to McClintock for his neglect. He goes on to share the museum’s appreciation of McClintock’s donation and ensures him that he will endeavor to show that the money was put to good use.

Letter B:

The letter continues the previous address McClintock received from the Executive Secretary in his continued support and donation to the Third Asiatic Expedition. In this letter, Chapman is sending his personal thanks and appreciation to McClintock for that support and writes that he will endeavor to continue writing McClintock on the advancing project when he can.
