Description:
The following item depicts a copy of a receipt by Joseph Kohler to Gilbert Stuart McClintock, dated February 1, 1927. The receipt appears to be for art repairs commissioned by McClintock, for a 15th century alabaster sculpture. The account is charged $57.75, after 16 and a half hours of work at a rate of $3.50 an hour. The bottom of the page indicates that the account has been paid in full. In red pen, Kohler has marked this item a copy.
The art piece being restored is titled, “Descente de Croix,” or the “Descent of the Cross,” which portrays the scene of Jesus being lowered from the cross after the crucifixion.
