Description:

The following item depicts a printed letter by H. Khan Monif to Gilbert Stuart McClintock, dated November 21, 1929. The letter is to notify McClintock that a piece he ordered, a Somerra pottery dish, was delivered via the American Railway Agency. It is said that this item will be one of, if not the, rarest pieces McClintock will ever buy. It depicts a large blue and brown bird set within ivory. It was authenticated by Dr. Sarre, an authority and director of the Kaiser Frederic Museum at Berlin, verified in the states by Dr. Dimonde at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The piece was worth $450.00, and was of Persian origin, created in the 9th century.
