Description:

The following item depicts a printed letter by Gilbert Stuart McClintock to Mary A. Benjamin, dated June 24, 1958. In the latter, McClintock is trying to set up a trade for collector items with Mary A. Benjamin. He writes that he possesses a collection of presidential signatures, such as Andrew Jackson, Calvin Coolidge, and William McKinley, among other names, such as Hendrick Bradley Wright and Benjamin Harrison. He states that he thinks they may be of interest to Benjamin, and in exchange, he would like to hear about items that pertain to the Northeastern region of Pennsylvania, or presidents who are related to the Wilkes Barre area particularly. He concludes by stating that he does not wish to sell any of these items, but rather, only seeks to broker a trade between the two collectors or receive a credit to other items through the exchange. In the letter, McClintock mentions sending an itemized list of the photostats accompanying this letter, which can be seen in item 1.43c.
