Description:

The following image depicts a photograph of Andrew Todd McClintock, taken during the mid-nineteenth century. He is sitting with his left profile more in the focal point. He wears a black three-piece suit with a neck cravat and a white button-down shirt. The date for the photograph has been estimated due to McClintock’s life dates. In the photograph, McClintock looks to be in his mid-thirties to early forties, with signs of aging in his beard and dress indicating his established position in his law career. That would put the photograph during the mid-1840s-1850s. Andrew Todd McClintock was born in 1810, in Northumberland county to Hannah Todd McClintock and Samuel McClintock. He studied at Kenyon College in Ohio, later being admitted to the bar in Luzerne County in 1839, where he built a prominent professional career in the valley during his life. He also pursued many professional connections, rising to a director role for the Wyoming National Bank and a presidential seat on the Hollenback Cemetery Association. Princeton college conferred a degree of LL. D. in 1870 to McClintock. At the time of his death in 1892, McClintock was one of the oldest members in the Luzerne Bar, where he continued to maintain the interests of many corporate entities until the time of his passing.
