Description:
The picture depicts a photograph of the front angle of the McClintock home in Bear Lake. The scene displays the right hand side of the home, with the porch, front door, and yard comprising the better half of the right side. The house is a two story white clapboard abode with shutters on the many windows adorning both floors. There are two french pane windows on the left hand side of the porch.
The porch contains numerous seats and a table for parties to be entertained.
The photograph has a good exposure, making the picture easy to interpret. The coloring is black and white.
The photograph has been attributed the “House of Wendy Hams, Bear Lake,” from its connection to other photographs of the same house, in similar styles, where the location and Wendy Hams appear on accompanying slips of paper, such as item (1.73b).
Gilbert Stuart McClintock is supposed to be the creator of the photograph as he has other photographs that he sold in auctions within the collection, item (1.60) “A Photograph of the “[Basilica] Santa Maria della Salute,” taken by Gilbert Stuart McClintock, [ca. Mid-twentieth century]. (removed to Oversized Box #1)”, as well as another photo album of their house, item (1.59), which collects frames of the house in a similar documentary style.
