Description:
The item depicts two photographs capturing the left hand side view of the McClintock family home. The house is a two story white clapboard home. There are five windows along the side of the home, each adorned with shutters. There is one chimney visible in the shot. The family had many plants and a yard abutting the left hand side entrance of the home. There are two french pane windows on the left hand side of the porch.
In the first image, the photographer's exposure is off, making the picture appear washed out. The second image is better, making a crisp image of the side view. The coloring is black and white.
The photograph has been attributed the “House of Wendy Hams, Bear Lake,” from its connection to other photographs of the same house, in similar styles, where the location and Wendy Hams appear on accompanying slips of paper, such as item (1.73b).
Gilbert Stuart McClintock is supposed to be the creator of the photograph as he has other photographs that he sold in auctions within the collection, item (1.60) “A Photograph of the “[Basilica] Santa Maria della Salute,” taken by Gilbert Stuart McClintock, [ca.
