Description:

The following item depicts a photograph capturing the left hand side view of the yard outside the McClintock family home in. The house is a two story white clapboard home with stucco accents and three chimneys displayed along the two buildings. The expansive yard comprises the foreground and middle third of the photograph, with the house sitting in the center, background portion of the frame. There are two dense shrubs sitting in the left and right hand side of the frame, with three tall trees alongside the house in the back. The photograph is in a sepia tone. The photograph has been attributed the “House of Wendy Hams, Bear Lake,” from its connection to other photographs of the same house, in similar styles, where the location and Wendy Hams appear on accompanying slips of paper, such as item (1.73b). Gilbert Stuart McClintock is supposed to be the creator of the photograph as he has other photographs that he sold in auctions within the collection, item (1.60) “A Photograph of the “[Basilica] Santa Maria della Salute,” taken by Gilbert Stuart McClintock, [ca. Mid-twentieth century]. (removed to Oversized Box #1)”, as well as another photo album of their house, item (1.59), which collects frames of the house in a similar documentary style.
