Description:

The following item depicts a photostat by an unknown creator at an unknown date of an original deed sale between Samuel Vanloon, [Van Loon], to Andrew Todd McClintock, dated May 10, 1860. The sheriff, Van Loon, is selling a tract of land containing 127 acres to McClintock for the sum of $50.00. The land lies in Plains Township, and is along the Susquehanna River. It is also situated near a number of companies named in the deed transfer, including the Pennsylvania Coal Company and the Bloomsburg Iron Company, names of which have contracted rights within the deed and McClintock for land and mining rights. The land is also situated by Sarah Blanchard. There is a section at the bottom of the deed that states the mansion and property of the late John Blanchard, recently deceased, is included in the sale. This property has recently been seized by the court in a writ of Venditioni exponas on March 12, 1860, in a suit by George Miller Law and Company. Sarah is written as the administratrix of David and A.M. Blanchard, tenants of the property.
