Subseries II: Reports, Proposals, and Contracts, 1970-1978

Subseries II: Reports, Proposals, and Contracts, 1970-1978, is arranged chronologically by date and contains a series of early planning proposals, long range plans, and contracts for the construction of the Nanticoke, Pittston, Wyoming Valley Medical complex. These papers contain instuction on how the project would be laid out, explaining the allocation of funds and land, the three local hospitals to be merged, and what services would remain in the communities while others would be provided in the large, central medical complex. The reports also offer studies on the causation factors for the services they will be creating, citing what areas of medical care are lacking, and objectives of comprehensive care. This subseries also includes a number of projection reports, outcomes and outline summaries of the project in the beginning, middle, and concluding stages. The contracts within this subseries look at the investor relationships, the Department of Public Welfare and the Wilkes Barre Area Health Planning Council, Standard Forms of Agreement, such as between Owner and Engineer for Professional Services, affidavits, like that in Support of Standing of Luzerne County Medical Society, and more.

A majority of the items in this collection are in good condition, excepting some of the reports have lost their binding, and should be handled carefully accordingly.
