Description:
This booklet is a reprinting of the catalog of books in the College of New Jersey library from January 29, 1760. The original was published by the Order of the Trustees and printed by James Parker. The reprint was done by The Friends of the Library at Princeton University Library in 1949. There is a foreword written by Julian P. Boyd, the Princeton Librarian at the time. The original catalog began with a note on “The Design of the Publication” talking about the importance of books in a college library and the general importance of the collection. There is a note at the end of this section about the way the catalog is organized with the first number being the amount of books there are and the second number being how they are numbered on the shelf. The entire booklet including the foreword and other information from the reprinter is forty eight pages and the catalog itself is 32 pages.
