Title:

Edwin M. Stanton at Kenyon

Description:

A historical booklet about Edwin Stanton, Lincoln’s secretary of war. It is by Wyman W. Parker, a librarian from Kenyon College. There is a note at the top of the first page that the booklet is reprinted from the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Quarterly, Vo. 60, No. 3, July, 1951. The pages are from 233 to 256. The booklet discusses letters written by Stanton during his time at Kenyon College and the years after. Parker writes that despite Stanton being a controversial figure, he believes the content of these letters will provide a different perspective into the life of Stanton. Generally, most of the booklet serves as a biography of Stanton’s life during college and includes quite a few of the letters themselves.
